Google releases latest Android security updates for Pixel and Nexus devices
Finally, after a long wait, Google released latest over-the-air (OTA) and firmware Android security updates for Google Pixel and Nexus devices in early days of August. The Android security patch level updates went live to provide Android partners with the flexibility to more quickly fix a subset of vulnerabilities that are similar across all Android Devices.
The updates thus released are meant to increase the Android mobile security as it is seen that exploitation for many issues on Android is made more difficult by enhancements in the newer version of Android platform. In the first security patch level update, Google fixed the most severe Framework vulnerabilities, Libraries vulnerabilities, and Media vulnerabilities.
In the second Android security bulletin update vulnerabilities were grouped under the component that they affect and include details such as CVE, associated references, type of vulnerability, severity, component, and updates AOSP versions.
Please, note down, security patch level in the latest over-the-air (OTA) and firmware for devices such as Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, and Pixel C was released.
